Role Summary

Aubay is seeking a Lead Software Engineer who specialises in solutions architecture and platform development of full stack software solutions for cloud services and products. This is a hands-on coding role where you will be using the latest cloud technologies, tools and processes to build an international online cloud-based medicines information platform used by pharma companies, health care professionals, and patients. You will be working on a range of products and services for B2C and B2B situations covering new innovative solutions for publishing medicines data and insights.

In this role, you will be the technical lead for two software development squads working with a DevOps team and a QA team to deliver high quality, trusted software applications. You will work closely with the Head of Delivery and Senior Cloud Architect as well as subject matter experts in the business and partner companies. Our client has recently completed a collaboration with a start-up investment partner so this role will have direct input in shaping the future of the most comprehensive, trusted, and accessible source of information about medicines in the UK.


Required Skills and Experience

  • 6+ years direct experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle in a B2C and B2B cloud based technical data publishing environment.
  • Experience of Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Experience in working in a distributed team environment
  • Experience of product-centric work structures
  • Preferably have exposure to SEO and associated analytics and marketing platforms
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Computer science degree level or equivalent experience in developing enterprise grade applications.

Required skills in solution delivery

  • Clear communication with the business is an important aspect of the role; you will need the ability to understand their needs, talk about technical aspects in non-technical language and translating their needs into system requirements for you and others to develop.
  • Assist with and implement system deployments using CI/CD
  • Mentor other members of the Development Team
  • Participate in any other duties which the Senior Software Developer is qualified and / or sufficiently experienced to undertake.
  • Preferably have experience of working in an Agile (Scrum) Development environment
  • Preferably be familiar with Test Driven and Behavioural Driven Development, including Integration, automation and unit testing
  • Line Management – Lead, motivate, coach and mentor software developers in your team, ensuring that they receive core skills and technical training, career development and SMART delivery objectives and appraisals
